going over the same [ bleep ] story. >>> detroit police calling it an unprecedented case. a woman found dead, burned in a detroit apartment days after two other women were also found attacked. both left for dead in a nearby vacant field. one of them with burn marks on her body. cnn's rosa flores joins me with more on this one. and rosa, what are police saying? are they connecting these women at all? >> reporter: you know, that's the big question. i just got off the phone with detroit police, and the public information officer there tells me that they are investigating these three cases separately. right now they don't believe that these cases are related. but here is what we know. the latest body was discovered after detroit firefighters put out an apartment fire saturday. the woman has not been identified, but investigators do say that she is in her 20s. now, the medical examiner has not determined the cause of death at this point in time. here's what's very interesting. a week earlier to the day on jewel 27th, a 30-year-old woman was found physically assaulted in a vacant field. her c

that is because i interviewed the detroit tigers and i asked them, would you feel comfortable with a gay player coming out on the detroit tigers and they said, what's the big deal? is it different in the world of baseball than it is in the world of football? >> i don't think so, actually. i think we do athletes a disservice by assuming that they are all neandrethals. i've found that most don't care what the sexual orientation is. it allows everyone a voice in the conversation. so i don't believe that there is one sport that is more or less homophobic. i just think that athletes are not given the opportunity to prove how accepting that they are. >> i ask you these questions because in the world of sports, especially in football, you see many religious players, social conservatives. >> yeah. you know, i think that religion is important and the one thing that we do is try to meet the players or anyone where they are at. if there's a player that has a religious concern about playing with an lgbt player, we want to have that conversation, do it in an open and honest way, do it free from j

the fries, make our wages supersize. these workers in detroit, they want 15 tlrs an hour. what they call a livable wage. workers are striking in boston , atlanta, houston, new york. you see them. dozens of other cities today. to ask places like mcdonald's, kentucky fried chicken, other names you know to increase worker pay. the median wage for a fast food employee is now just over $9 an hour. you do the math. that's just about $18,500 a year. more than $4,000 below what the government says is the poverty line for a family of four. that's $23,000 a year. >> it's clear that the inequality of income in this country is too far gone. or too long. that's why $15 an hour seems so high. it's gone unchecked. you know, a lot of corporations are allowed to self-regulate these days. this is what happens. >> the number of workers making minimum wage in the restaurant industry is 5%. again, the point is that we're creating opportunity. we're creating opportunity for everybody. and i think you cannot just pay wages based on a person's need. you've got to pay wages based on the -- what the economy

medicare fraud. this doctor in the detroit area is accused of not just overbilling, but overdosing his patients to get more money. more than $35 million in total here. federal criminal complaint against dr. farid fata says he also gave cancer treatments to patients who didn't have cancer. gave chemotherapy to patients in remission or on their death beds. and used foreign doctors with questionable certifications to be able to see 50 to 70 patients a day. still some of his patients stand by the doctor. >> if it were not for fata, i wouldn't be here right thousand. i got to see my grandbaby. and i love him and i think this is a witch hunt. >> a judge has ruled that dr. fata must provide a $9 million bond to get out of federal custody. 9 million. >>> a lot of expecting mothers hope their labor will be brief. but there's short and then there's too short. adriana hopkins from our affiliate has the story of this woman who gave birth before anyone was ready. well, anyone but the baby. >> she's so beautiful. >> reporter: she is just so sweet. and a little impatient. not that anyone is compl

to the detroit tigers, jhonny peralta. are they going to accept that suspension and take it now and if a guy like nelson cruz does that, then he would be able to rejoin his team by the time the playoff starts. the trick there, is the team going to make the playoffs without one of its big stars. if he decides, instead, to fight the suspension and as we said, these guys can play during their appeal, he can help his team during that time, but depending on how the timing works out with that appeal, hey, maybe that suspension kicks in instead right during the postseason. we have to wait and see how these guys decide to handle it. we know how a-rod is going to handle it. he said he will fight everything tooth and nail. >> so interesting to see how this affects the race for the pen pe p peninate. i know you have a question for my next guest here. how did major league baseball and a-rod get to this point? let's go back to january when the "miami news times" broke the story. cnn's john zarrella covered it. >> reporter: called biogenesis and run out of this office building in coral gables, fl
